Recent times have been hard for some friends. And while they all try to keep their heads up and stay positive, there are moments when they can’t help but think about how they can go on.
I’ve done what I can to help and given my time to listen to their stories. But it seems not enough… for I can’t do anything to bring back all that was lost from them.
Although I can’t imagine how difficult it is for them now, I do remember the times when I’ve been down and defeated.
And in those moments, one of the things that helped me move forward was reading words of inspiration and encouragement.
So for those who’ve been feeling depleted by life, no matter what the reasons are, here are some words which I hope can give you strength to endure and begin anew.
“When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt
“Fall seven times, stand up eight.” – Japanese Proverb
“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” – Harriet Beecher Stowe
“When the fight begins within himself. A man is worth something” – Robert Browning
“Experience is not what happens to you; it is what you do with what happens to you.” – Aldous Huxley
“If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.” – Mary Pickford
“One has to remember that every failure can be a stepping stone to something better.” – Col. Harland Sanders
“A happy life consists not in the absence, but in the mastery of hardships.” – Helen Keller
“When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.” – Alexander Graham Bell
“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.” – Richard Bach
“Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.” – Og Mandino
“The major difference between the big shot and the little shot is the big shot is just a little shot who kept on shooting.” – Zig Ziglar
I especially like Alexander Graham Bell’s quote. It is often okay to cry over spilled milk, but only for a certain period of time. It is when we begin to tell ourselves that everything will be okay – then get up and move on – that is important because we can not afford to miss out on other chances in life. My Well Of wealth

Good list. Here is another one that I recently saw that stood out to me for some reason:
“Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement.”
– Brian Tracy, Eat that Frog
This is a very inspiring post, Fitz. I still remember my father’s favorite motto: We must go on matter how many skies have fallen.
I just hope Filipinos continue helping each other. But unfortunately, I learned that there are some who are taking advantage of the situation.
I just want to share one of my most favorite quote:
“I WILL do today what other people WON’T so that I CAN have tomorrow what other people CAN’T.”
Notice the contrasting words WILL-WON’T and CAN-CAN’T 🙂
Sometimes we need to stand out in order to make a difference.
Nice compilation Fitz, thanks for sharing!
I would also like to share one of my favorite quotes from Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can or you can’t, either way, you are rightâ€
Just like what Greg said, nasa tao yan. Usually what one believes becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Thanks everyone for sharing your favorite quotes.
It’s really amazing how words can be powerful enough to move us. 😀

DON’t Quit…
This is also what I stand and how I deal life.

Thank you for the wonderful post Fitz. Definitely worth the time and effort to print this article in a fancy script on high quality paper and frame it. A few minutes reflecting on these great quotes may change a bad day into a good one. I will add this: there is almost always someone hurting more than you. We have clients come in for may reasons. Some of their hardships will make grown men cry! My wife and I have always agreed, no matter what may have gone wrong that day or that week, we are so blessed, our troubles pale in comparison to what many other must go through.
