Updated: October 1, 2009
The 2009 Philippine Blog Awards is coming this October and for this year, the theme is One Blogging Nation.
It will be the first time that the PBA will be held for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao – another milestone for the Philippine blogging community.
For Luzon, it will be on October 9th at the PETA Theatre, Quezon City. On October 18th, the PBA will visit Cebu for the Visayas Event and ends in Cagayan De Oro on October 24th for the Mindanao Event.
And after several weeks of nominations, the finalists has already been announced. I’m proud to announce that two of my blogs have been included in the list.
First, in the Best Food & Beverage Blog, The Thirsty Blogger was able to please the judges and make it as a finalist. I never imagined that my small blogging project would get this much support from the blogging community. π
And second, for the Best Business Blog, Ready To Be Rich has once again been included as one of the finalists. Truly, it’s an honor and a privilege to be considered as one of the best blogs out there.
And unexpectedly, Ready To Be Rich has also been chosen by Chikka Media as one of the finalists for the Luzon Readers’ Choice Award.
This is a Sponsor Award given to the blog who will garner the most votes from their readers. And that’s why I would like to make a request if you can please vote for Ready To Be Rich now.
Here’s how you can do this:
- Online voting – simply visit this page, select “Ready To Be Rich”, write your name and email and click Submit. Deadline for this is 10:00 am of October 3rd.
- Text voting – just text CHIKKARC L12 and send to 2929. This will cost you P2.50. If you don’t want to spend, then just go for the online voting. Deadline for the text voting is on October 7th.
Thank you very much for making the effort to vote. I really appreciate it. π
And lastly, the Philippine Blogging Awards, together with RockEd are now working together on a focused drive for the victims of typhoon Ondoy.
They are requesting the bloggers and those attending the PBA Luzon Awards night if they can bring dry clothing, towels, blankets and shoes on October 9th.
These donations will be collected at the lobby of the PETA-Phinma Theater and will be distributed by RockEd to the victims of the recent typhoon.
And that’s it!
Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this post, I know that most of you, my readers, are not bloggers and this may not concern you much.
But I hope that I was able to show you that the Philippine blogging community is very much alive and well. And who knows, maybe one of these days, you’ll get the inspiration to start a blog too and become part of the growing Pinoy blogosphere. π

It was nice to see that my blog too was included in the finalist for the “Best Business Blog” category. But I think this blog of yours Fitz will probably win. Just my guess. π
Good luck Fitz!
I guess I could vote for Tyrone’s Millionaire Acts and this blog. Two phones π
Congrats on being a finalist too Tyrone! And good luck to us. π
Thanks Rina and Teejay for the best wishes. π
Congrats for making it again Sir Fitz! Galing! It’s been a week since I last checked your site. I wasn’t able to vote on-line so I just texted Chikka.
More power to you and your inspiring site!
Wow, that’s very cool blogging is so big in the Philippines! I haven’t been back to the Philippines in 32 years. Have things changed much?
I’m writing from San Francisco. What’s up Fitz/Tyrone?
