I would like to use this opportunity to encourage my readers to help the victims of typhoon Ondoy (international code name: Ketsana).
Did you know that this tropical storm has given one month’s worth of rainfall in just 6 hours?
Thus producing epic floods everywhere in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
Moreover, it was almost exactly three years ago when the country was hit by the powerful typhoon Milenyo (international code name: Xangsane). I remember having no electricity at home for almost one week back then.
Anyway, enough of the trivia and on to our call for action, which is to do our part in helping our fellow Filipinos greatly affected by the typhoon and floods.
There are various ways you can help and the easiest way is to donate to Red Cross. You don’t even have to go out of the house to do this.
Simply use your mobile phone to text in the amount you want to give. Instructions for both Globe and Smart given below:
Moreover, TXTPower is also accepting donations in behalf of Red Cross through SmartMoney, GCash and via Paypal.
TXTPower urges its members, supporters and friends abroad to make donations via Paypal. You may also donate via SmartMoney (5577-5144-1866-7103) or GCash 0917-9751092. All donations coursed through TXTPower will be sent to the Philippine National Red Cross.
If you want to send your help directly to Red Cross, you can visit this page to know where you can deposit your cash donations and bring relief goods.
To know more on what you can do to help, or learn where you can ask for one, please visit this website on the Typhoon Ondoy Emergency Hotlines and Relief Operations information page.

Hi Fitz, we were also a victim of this typhoon and the whole phase of our village where our house was located was still submerged with flood up until now. We already evacuated and hopefully our Mayor Mon Ilagan would do something to flush and pump out those flood water.
I’m sorry to hear that Tyrone. I hope and pray that you, including my other blogging friends, and the rest of those who were greatly affected by the typhoon, would recover soon. God bless!
