Ready To Be Rich: Investing For Beginners Workshop

Updated: June 30, 2013

Last year, I’ve been blessed with a lot of opportunities to share my knowledge and experience through speaking events.

One of the most memorable was the one I did at the Money Summit and Wealth Expo where I talked about Investing 101.

However, I realized that talking to people about investing will usually go only as far as inspiring them to invest, and without a concrete action plan, most will eventually end up doing nothing.

That’s why this year, I’m planning to change that by giving you an innovative workshop where people will not just sit the whole day listening, nodding their heads and taking notes, but actually doing what they’re supposed to do if they want to invest.

Thus I now present, the…

Ready To Be Rich: Investing For Beginners Workshop

This is not your typical run-of-the-mill seminar because it is a workshop. This means there will be hands-on and interactive activities. It’s so hands-on that you are actually required to bring a calculator!

Aside from the discussions on the different types of investments, we will also work together to create your customized investment plan.

After the workshop, you are expected to go home with a concrete, practical work plan on where to invest and how to manage it to reach your financial goals.

Here are some questions that you’ll be able to answer after the workshop:

  • What’s the difference between an asset and an investment?
  • What are things I need to do before I can become an investor?
  • What is the biggest mistake that people commit when investing?
  • How do bonds, stocks, UITF, mutual funds and other instruments work?
  • How do you make money from paper assets?
  • How do I build, diversify and manage my own investment portfolio?
  • How can investments help me buy my dream house?
  • Where should I invest to secure the educational needs of my child?
  • How much money do I exactly need to retire?

And below is a preview of one of the worksheets that I’ll help you fill up:

  1. I’m torn.. I want to attend this one and a technical analysis class. πŸ™ Both classes are during that weekend which I’m home. The technical class can be on Sunday but that’s my niece’s first birthday and the main reason I’m home. πŸ™

  2. Hi Claudine. I hope you choose to attend mine. πŸ˜€

In any case, is this technical analysis for stock trading? I can give you a very simple TA strategy that always work for me after the seminar.

  3. Hello Fitz,
I would love to attend this workshop. I have been following your blog for about a year now where I learned loads and valuable information about investing/financial management. However, I’m expected to deliver my first baby on said date, not to mention that I reside hours away from Manila. I wonder if there’s a chance of you offering a workshop such as this online? :):)

  4. @Claudine, I don’t do much stock trading, but I am an active forex trader – which technically, has the same strategies. In any case, I believe you should choose which one is in your list of financial priorities right now. πŸ˜€

@Tess, congratulations in advance! In my opinion, it would be hard to translate the workshop into an online seminar because of the hands-on activities involved. In any case, we’ll surely consider doing a webinar counterpart. Thanks for the suggestion.

  5. Good day! This will be my first ever seminar that I paid on my personal expense. Usually i attend seminars as part of my work. Excited to learn some more about investing.

  10. Hi Sir Fitz,
I attended your workshop last Saturday. Can you kindly send the soft copies of the slides and the table? Congratulations to you, and I will be watching out for more of your workshops. πŸ™‚

  11. Hi Sir Fitz,

Great workshop yesterday. Although I was expecting the workshop to be more on stocks, it was something much more better. It was a great eye opener for me who has no experience and has very little knowledge in investing. Looking forward for more workshops.

    PS
Hope I can request a copy of your presentation if that’s allowed.

    Best Regards,

  12. Thanks to everyone who attended. Yes, you will be given copies of the presentation and the excel worksheets via email. It will be sent in a couple of days, we’re just sorting out the attendance list.

  13. Hi Fitz,

It was a great workshop – concise and yet comprehensive not dragging and boring. “Kung sa kape – tamang-tama lang ang timpla.” I would like to co-sponsor it one of these days if it is ok with you for my own FINANCIAL COUNSELLING PROGRAM I am preparing for my colleagues and clients. I am now an advocate for financial freedom just like you. If you need to polish on the legal aspects of your future seminars I will be glad to assist you.
