No matter how busy you are with working or taking care of your business, you should never forget to exercise. I remember my mother telling me that I should always have time for exercise.
She argues that all the hard work that I do to earn money will be useless if I end up frail and sick from ignoring my physical health. She has a good point, won’t you agree?
Exercise doesn’t have to be expensive. If can’t afford to enroll in a gym or take fitness classes, then why not do some of these great activities, which can help you get that exercise you need without breaking your budget.
1. Run or brisk walk
Put on your rubber shoes and take a jog around the neighborhood. Even walking around the mall while window shopping can do you some good.
2. Clean your house
Pick up the duster and clean your furniture and fixtures. Organize the clutter in your room or closet. Skip going to the carwash and do the washing yourself.
3. Watch and follow daily home workout videos
There are a lot of free workout programs online, which you can do at home, especially on YouTube.
Put on your exercise clothes, set aside the furniture, and start working out. There are various fitness routines, and even dance classes you can follow online.
4. Improvise on exercise equipment
Get the ketchup bottle and use it like a dumbbell. Put some books inside a bag and do some bicep curls. Your house is filled with stuff you can use to replicate common exercise routines.
However, it’s important to research proper form and posture to minimize the risk of injury.
5. Join community activities
Look for free classes in your area, some gyms offer free workout sessions in malls. Some parks have exercise groups which you can join.
The CCP Complex and Luneta, for example, become gathering places of health buffs during weekends here in Manila.
6. Incorporate exercise in your daily routines
Park your car far from the entrance. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. Walk to your officemate’s cubicle instead of using the telephone to talk. In the end, these few extra steps can add up and you’ll burn a lot of calories.
7. Have sex
Many studies show it’s pretty good exercise and that’s all you need to know, right?
Can you add more to the list? Please leave a comment and share it.

Hi ocs, ball room dancing with your partner is a good way to exercise too… and a cheap way to have fun at home. I’d recommend it.
I also clean my car, and I can say it’s a form of exercise. Any physical activity that gets your heart pumping is. 😀
