The title of the podcast comes from a famous quote by Dave Ramsey. He claims, “Winning at money is 80 percent behavior and 20 percent head knowledge.” (0:40)

The show will focus on how to learn financial discipline, what is the right attitude when it comes to money, and practical strategies to build and grow our wealth. (2:15)

When we want to save money, we try to lessen our spending. But this doesn’t always work because the act of saving becomes a negative experience when we do this. (4:40)

Following the saving formula is a great way to save money painlessly. The formula is: Income – Savings = Expenses (6:55)

Paying yourself first makes saving money automatic, less painful or even painless, and it’s easier to eventually make it habit. (11:50)

Save Money With Mini Habits (Episode 2)

The #PisoChallenge is a strategy that will help you learn the habit of saving. There are only two steps to doing this: Step 1, get a piggy bank. And Step 2, save 1 peso everyday for 90 days. (0:55)

The strategy is based on a book by Stephen Guise, “Mini Habits: Smaller Habits, Bigger Results.” (3:35)

A study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology by health psychology researcher, Phillippa Lally figured out that on average, it takes about 66 days before a new behavior becomes automatic. (4:35)

Setting aside 1 peso everyday is a very small positive behavior, but it actually allows you to build on that momentum. (6:35)

A Baby Step is Still a Step Forward (Episode 3)
