Piso Tales: An Advocacy Campaign to Life by FWD Life Philippines and Wattpad

Last week, I was invited to attend the launch of “Piso Tales” at Fully Booked in Bonifacio High Stret.

Piso Tales is a collection of stories about love, fantasy, and fan-girling with hints of financial insights written by some of Wattpad’s most prolific authors in partnership with FWD Life Insurance.

The event was casual and entertaining, and it’s so refreshing to read stories that consider financial topics as part of its plot.

FWD PH Marketing Head, Roche Vandenberghe explained to us that this project is their advocacy to reach the millennial market and inform them about the importance of personal finance.

FWD Life, the country’s fastest-growing insurance company, has partnered with Wattpad, the global multiplatform entertainment company for original stories, in revolutionizing financial education via its “Piso Tales” advocacy campaign.

“Piso Tales”, a one-of-a-kind initiative which aims to bring financial literacy closer to the country’s rapidly expanding millennial market, is geared towards changing the way people learn and share financial stories.

In partnership with Wattpad, FWD worked passionately with three (3) Filipino Wattpad authors in coming up with stories showcasing how millennials can succeed financially in life.

“FWD Life’s Piso Tales campaign will empower a new generation of Filipinos to take control of their finances to prepare for their and their loved ones’ future,” said Wattpad Business Operations and Strategy Lead Chris Stefanyk.

“With stories like ‘BTW, It’s Love!’, ‘Detour’, and ‘My Fangirl Dream’, the campaign makes financial literacy relevant and entertaining for millions of Filipino millennials.”

Wattpad has a total monthly audience of 6 million. Every month, Filipinos spend 500 million minutes engaged in stories about the things they love.
