What is divergent thinking?
Why is divergent thinking important if you want to become an entrepreneur?
Below is a brilliant 3-minute video of Tina Seelig, where she explains convergent and divergent thinking.
Towards the end, she shares an Oxford University entrance exam question, that applies the principle of divergent thinking ingeniously.
Just like the mathematical problem where Tina Seelig asks the audience what two numbers add up to 10, entrepreneurs are also trying to find solutions that will add up to a better world.
So if you want to be an entrepreneur, you should practice divergent thinking. Accept that life is not a simple equation that has one answer, but an open-ended question that has many possibilities.
