Hi [issa]!

Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm glad that you found my posts informative and helpful.

This blog was conceptualized when another one of my closest friends had to go abroad for work. I asked myself what can I do to stop all these people I love from leaving the country to become OFW's. Upon introspection, I realized that it's because we have very few resources to learn how to achieve financial freedom in our country. And that is why whenever I write a post, I would always have our fellow Pinoys in mind when giving out examples and practical tips. In my own little way, this is how I'd like to help our kababayans to achieve their dreams of wealth.

It seems that you are in the right track towards achieving financial freedom. Keep it up! I have been in this journey long enough to learn that it takes discipline, perseverance and determination to be able to reach our goals. I wish you luck in all your endeavors and I do hope that your friends could also join us in this adventure soon.

Lastly, I will try to research more on effective investing strategies in mutual funds here in the Philippines. It's just unfortunate that the last time I tried to do this, all I discovered were financial managers who are less helpful to explain and discuss mutual funds and more interested in explaining why you should sign up and invest in their portfolio. And finally, regarding Colayco and his teachings, I would still have to find time to read his books. How different are they from other financial mindsetting books like Rich Dad, Poor Dad? Honestly, I'm a bit hesitant to read them because I feel that it has Robert Kiyosaki written all over it and I'm thinking that he may not have any original thoughts and ideas to offer me. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe I'd give him a chance and pick up a copy soon.

Again, thanks for visiting my site and thank you for your compliments. More power!

P.S.
You can just call be Fitz. No need to use "sir". :D

Hi sir Fitz! I just stumbled on this personal finance blog of yours & I must say this is one of the best blogs I've been too! Clean and simple layout, blog posts that are very informative (it's lengthy after all, lol) and helpful to PINOY readers like me.

Your post on "My journey towards financial freedom" struck me. Financial freedom is what I am aiming for. My spending habits are almost nil (save for basic needs) so I know that even without having a "real job", I knew I'll survive comfortably. I'm a doctor and after 2 years of going on 24-hour duties, I was burned out -- in need of MORE TIME for myself and everything that I love to do!

Of course my parents don't understand that since they were brought up on the culture that you must WORK in an office or for a company to earn money. But I felt I could do more if I had more time in my hands. Like you I started on freelance writing and doing paid-to-blog posts. Since September, I have earned $3K but I know that's peanuts compared to what you earn. LOL! But still it felt good coz I just worked from home -- no 24hour duties, I can go on medical missions, and have time with family + friends, etc.

I rarely post comments in blogs (much more posting a lengthy one, lol!) but sir Fitz, I must say your blog truly inspired me! I do hope you continue blogging here for a long time. And thank you for "paying it forward" =) I am doing that too. Been elling all my friends about earning online opportunities. Thank you again for sharing your journey & I'll be back to visit!

p.s. I would love to see posts on investing like mutual funds and such. I've read Colayco's book on passive income and I would love to hear what your experiences about it. Demanding ba? Hehe!
