Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
This article is posted under Inspirations and Motivations. The song Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield is one of the most beautiful inspirational songs that I’ve heard in most recent years.
I’ve long wanted to share this song with you but have hesitated because of its very strong association with a hair care product which used it in an advertisement. (bleh!)
Nonetheless, I’ve decided that it’s now time to write my thoughts about this song and its special meaning to my life.
But first, here’s the music video of Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. Do sing along if you want, the lyrics are specially provided below.
For me, the song is about setting yourself free. It is about getting rid of that fear of failure. One cannot live life without making mistakes. It is part of our learning process and one of the things that makes life challenging and exciting.
I break tradition
Sometimes my tries
Are outside the lines
We’ve been conditioned
To not make mistakes
But I can’t live that way
Yes, everyone makes mistakes. And the important thing is to learn from them and continue living. No one can tell us how we should live our life. It is up to us to decide where we want to go and what we want to achieve. Let nobody stop you from making your dreams come true.
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in, no one else
No one else can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
