I’d like to take this opportunity to inform my readers and visitors of the following contests, parties and events that are currently happening in the blogging community.

First, the 4th Philippine Blogging Summit will be held on April 26, 2008 from 9am to 5pm at the Malcolm Theater, College of Law, in UP Diliman, Quezon City. The program highlights the basic concepts of blogging and its different forms and perspectives. If you’ve always wanted to learn about problogging, photoblogging, podcasting and other stuff about blogging, then here’s your chance. Visit their website and register for iBlog4 now.

After the summit, you can head over to Katips Bar in Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City and attend the first blogger party this summer. The 88DB.com Bloggers’ Night invites bloggers of any size, age and status to a night of booze, music and prizes. Come and dress up as your blog and get a chance to win a brand new Sony PSP. If you’re too lazy to go out, then you might just consider participating in The Blog Awards Challenge. This is a competition that combine literary skills, interactivity and peer polling. It is a bi-weekly theme-based writing event for everyone in the blogosphere. The current theme of the challenge is about the reasons why we blog. Furthermore, the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards is now open for nominations. Three (3) awards divisions in a total of thirty-six (36) award categories are up for grabs. Visit their official website and nominate your favorite Filipino-owned blogs now.
